OK so The food scene here is surprisingly good. Should I be concerned? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in North for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good airport with direct flights
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Chain restaurants dominate

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Riverside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Urban sprawl is real.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much stable but now it's challenging.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (The Heights) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Boston, be prepared for the culture shock. cost of living is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
