Rent in New Lenox getting crazy

Hey, Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What would you do? The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it was the best decision I ever made. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I've lived in West for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for couples. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

The food scene here is better than expected. Tons of great BBQ places. I genuinely enjoy living here.
