Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and Poverty rate is 1.7%, which is pretty low. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Definitely worth checking out..

Moved here from Dallas about 3 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to food scene but No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much reasonable but now it's solid.

I'm a social worker and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from Portland about 13 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is underrated.
Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
