Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -New Martinsville sits at 39.1 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 5,175 people. Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $718/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Am I overthinking this? The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
