I work in real estate here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is underrated. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Used to live on the West side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I work in healthcare here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 6 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in East for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Four distinct seasons
- The pet-friendliness scene is improving

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is average in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.
