Anyone regret moving to New Milford?

Hi all, Rent is about $1,422/month for a decent place. Household incomes average around $81,170 in New Milford. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a marketing manager, 52, moved here 2 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Riverside and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Active local events and festivals
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Can feel isolated
3. The food scene situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Riverside: Great for couples. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt hit or miss. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$140K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Bought a house here in 2022 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
