I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is job market. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Moved here from Atlanta about 5 years ago. I genuinely enjoy living here. Still getting used to public transit but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem average.
I've been here 12 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The North side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Happy to answer more specific questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Seattle about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Summers can be brutally hot
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
