Day-to-day life in New Milford, NJ

I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $554,800 on average. Rent is about $1,722/month for a decent place. It's a a small town city with about 16,882 people. Median household income is $113,513, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if weather matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I love the pace of life here. The job market is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
