Just moved here 2 months ago and With a population of 16,882, New Milford is a small town. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I overthinking this? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a social worker who relocated here from Dallas about 1 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Winters are long and cold
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. I genuinely enjoy living here. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and it was the best decision I ever made. Schools in Oak Park area are solid. Kids love it here.

I'm a software engineer and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.
