Housing in New Orleans compared to Boston

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and Household incomes average around $55,339 in New Orleans. With a population of 376K, New Orleans is a mid-size city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Should I be concerned?

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, the quality of life is solid. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 14 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm a social worker and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
