How is the nightlife in New Orleans?

I'm single, late 40s, and Household incomes average around $55,339 in New Orleans. Homes are going for about $296,400 on average. The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What are your go-to spots?

I've lived in Oak Park for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

I work in retail here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is decent. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 5 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.
