Is New Preston a good place to live?
I'm retired and Would love some local perspective. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

I've lived in Riverside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
- The weather scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. dating scene used to be much wild but now it's excellent.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
