Is New Providence worth it salary-wise?

Rent is about $1,906/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 2.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $162,877, which feels pretty solid for the area. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Any advice would be great. Appreciate any input. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely underrated and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Westside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Rising rent and home prices

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Springfield for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Houston, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The weather scene is tough

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
