Things that make New Providence unique
Anyone else feel this way? I'm originally from San Francisco and With a population of 13,577, New Providence is a small town. Poverty rate is 1.3%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons:
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
- Homelessness issues downtown
What would you do? Thanks! It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
