Healthcare options in New Rochelle?

With a population of 81,591, New Rochelle is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Anyone in a similar situation? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The outdoor recreation is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely decent and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.
