Anyone regret moving to New Smyrna Beach?
Born and raised here. Thoughts? Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in consulting. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The job market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. public transit used to be much growing but now it's challenging.
