Biggest downsides of living in New Whiteland?

First post here. I'm single, late 20s, and Poverty rate is 1.0%, which is pretty low. With a population of 5,641, New Whiteland is a small town. Homes are going for about $185,000 on average. It's a a small town city with about 5,641 people. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely tough and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Midtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Meadowbrook area are improving. Kids love it here.
