Cheapest neighborhoods in New York?

Hi all, Household incomes average around $79,713 in New York. Median household income is $79,713, which feels about average for the area. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Am I wrong here? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's not perfect but it works for me. Compared to Portland it's better than expected.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 2 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.
