Longtime lurker here, I relocated for work and Crime rate is something to consider — New York sits at 570.7 per 100K. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Riverside. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to New York it's improving.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The weather is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
