Is New York still affordable?

The median home value here is around $751,700, which is pretty steep. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.
