First post here. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Crime rate is something to consider -Newark sits at 250.3 per 100K. With a population of 30,309, Newark is a smaller city. You can expect to pay around $1,611 for rent here. Rent is about $1,611/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Has anyone dealt with this? TIA! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.
