Housing in Newark compared to Pittsburgh

Hey, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $71,373 in Newark. Median household income is $71,373, which feels about average for the area. Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 30,309 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in South for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The nightlife scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
