Best apartments in Newark under ?

We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider — Newark sits at 619.0 per 100K. Poverty rate is 21.0%, which is higher than I expected. Homes are going for about $337,800 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value weather, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Lakewood) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
