Newark quality of life — am I missing something?

Hello, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $48,416 in Newark. With a population of 307K, Newark is a mid-size city. Rent is about $1,330/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $337,800, which seems about average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Anyone in a similar situation? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
