Cost of living reality check -Newark

Hey folks, I'm a 31-year-old electrician and It's a a smaller city city with about 50,393 people. You can expect to pay around $926 for rent here. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Anyone in a similar situation? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I'm a nurse and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I love the pace of life here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
