What surprised you most about Newberg?

Hey folks, We're a young couple and It's a a smaller city city with about 25,622 people. The unemployment rate is 2.4%, which is pretty low. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Is this normal for Newberg? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The food scene is excellent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Baltimore about 1 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Bought a house here in 2018 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
