Is Newberry still affordable?

I've been here for 7 years and With a population of 7,608, Newberry is a small town. Poverty rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $100,513, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- The housing market scene is improving

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..
