Living in Newberry -the reality

First post here. Rent is about $837/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 17.7%, which is higher than I expected. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Newberry? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.
