Best companies to work for in Newburgh?

Hey, I'm a teacher here and Homes are going for about $221,100 on average. Poverty rate is 25.0%, which is higher than I expected. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Am I wrong here? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Eastside. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Dallas about 11 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
