Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. Median household income is $144,259, which feels pretty solid for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,511 for rent here. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from San Diego about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are established, gas is improving.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.
