Is public transit usable in Newcastle?

Curious what people think. Rent is about $1,020/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
