Newcastle quality of life -am I missing something?

Anyone else feel this way? Crime rate is something to consider -Newcastle sits at 75.1 per 100K. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $97,315 in Newcastle. With a population of 12,238, Newcastle is a small town. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. What are your go-to spots? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the Oak Park side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.
