Hi all, Crime rate is something to consider -Newcastle sits at 83.2 per 100K. Median household income is $162,646, which feels pretty solid for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from Denver about 2 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
