Alright, Crime rate is something to consider -Newington sits at 79.8 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What are your go-to spots? Thanks! People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Moved here from Pittsburgh about 14 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

Bought a house here in 2021 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone about the same since then.
