Poverty rate is 1.6%, which is pretty low. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Came here for my partner's job and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's been a really good experience overall.

We moved here with our family and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Schools in Old Town area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Boston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Not very walkable outside downtown
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
