Housing in Newport Beach compared to Minneapolis

Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $3,146/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 61--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a a smaller city city with about 84,304 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Easy commute

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Chain restaurants dominate
What are your go-to spots? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
