Working remotely from Newport Beach — my experience
I've been working remotely from Newport Beach for 14 years now. Here's my take:
The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.
Cost of living: a bit high but manageable
Internet: Decent, getting better with new providers
Coworking spaces: Growing number of options
If you're looking for a place to WFH, Newport Beach is worth considering.

Respectfully disagree about the job market. In my experience, it really depends on your lifestyle.

For families, I'd recommend looking at Pine Grove. Schools are rated well and it's quiet.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is check out the local Facebook groups for neighborhood info. Makes a big difference.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

The job market has been improving lately. Several manufacturing companies moved in recently.

Rent tip: look for places in fall. Prices drop and there's more availability.

Check out the Midtown area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Old Town and Oakwood are perfectly safe.

Coming from New York, the cost of living difference is noticeable. Groceries and gas are slightly more expensive but housing makes up for it.

I'd add that the school system has been improving steadily. Otherwise spot on!

I've lived in Westside for 12 years and it's still one of the best decisions I made.

Weather is the biggest factor for us. Four seasons are nice, not too extreme either way.
