Anyone regret moving to Newport CDP (Washington County)?

OK so Been living here since 2005. Crime rate is something to consider -Newport CDP (Washington County) sits at 71.2 per 100K. Median household income is $89,883, which feels pretty solid for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Newport CDP (Washington County)? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Came here for work and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The food scene is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 4 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the nightlife is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Hope this helps!.
