Pros and cons of Newport News after 4 years

I'm retired and Poverty rate is 11.6%, which is around average. Homes are going for about $243,300 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Newport News? Thanks for reading.

Used to live on the Fairview side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I genuinely enjoy living here. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want food scene, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
