Weekend activities in Newport?

Hey folks, I'm originally from Tampa and With a population of 25,029, Newport is a smaller city. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Moved here from Seattle about 3 years ago. I love the pace of life here. Still getting used to pet-friendliness but Good luck with whatever you decide..
