Why I chose Newport over bigger cities

Hello, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $1,612 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Worth the trade-offs? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is traffic. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
