Starting a business in Nicholasville?

With a population of 31,625, Nicholasville is a smaller city. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Anyone in a similar situation? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 54, moved here 3 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Eastside and Highland, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Active local events and festivals
2. Good airport with direct flights
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Chain restaurants dominate
3. The cultural scene situation is affordable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for singles. excellent vibes, walkable.
- Highland: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $60K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the The Heights side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

I've lived in Westside for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- The walkability scene is tough

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. Good luck with whatever you decide..
