We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Midtown area are tough. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 5 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
