Working in Niles -salaries realistic?

Anyone else feel this way? I'm retired and Rent is about $1,247/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Worth the trade-offs?

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want weather, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in East for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- The pet-friendliness scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..
