Should I move to Niskayuna or stay in Chicago?

Anyone else feel this way? Household incomes average around $128,346 in Niskayuna. What would you do?

Moved here from Boston about 7 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to job market but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely hit or miss and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. My neighborhood (Eastside) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Winters are long and cold.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in marketing. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

Hope this helps!.
