We have two kids and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Household incomes average around $80,491 in Nixa. It's a a small town city with about 24,131 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 3 years. Moved from San Francisco for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is tough. We bought in 2022 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. finance is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it exceeded my expectations. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Far from beaches/mountains. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 8/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Old Town. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in legal. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Indian.
Definitely worth checking out..

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Cedar Grove area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

I work in real estate here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is decent. Good luck with whatever you decide..
