Been meaning to ask this. Born and raised here. Average temperature is around 71--F, so it's warm year-round. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 3 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the North side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
