Anyone else feel this way? I'm a college student here and It's a a small town city with about 1,679 people. Median household income is $39,196, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 23.9%, which is higher than I expected. Homes are going for about $117,000 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development.
