Best and worst neighborhoods in Norcross

OK so You can expect to pay around $1,654 for rent here. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Moved here from Raleigh about 5 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to traffic but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a sales manager, 44, moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in West and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Four distinct seasons
3. Affordable housing options
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The cultural scene situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for retirees. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$100K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Boston it's underrated.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in East for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Four distinct seasons
- The outdoor recreation scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for families. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor recreation is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
