Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and With a population of 17,669, Norcross is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Norcross sits at 586.7 per 100K. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The suburbs are where most families end up. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. I'm a lawyer and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Bought a house here in 2024 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 4 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found it's been a really good experience overall. My neighborhood (Old Town) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The job market is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..
